Nitrate and potassium concentration in fertigated soil cultivated with wine vines Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Silva,Alexsandro Oliveira da; Silva,Davi José; Bassoi,Luis Henrique.
ABSTRACT In the semiarid region of Brazil the use of irrigation systems for applying fertilizers in horticulture is the primary means for incorporating nutrients in the soil. However, this technique still requires its use in wine vines to be assessed. In view of this, this study aimed to assess nitrate and potassium concentrations in soil fertigated with nitrogen and potassium fertilizers in 3 wine grape growing cycles. A field experiment was conducted with 'Syrah' wine grapes, in Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil; it assessed five nitrogen doses (0, 15, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) and five K2O doses (0, 15, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) applied by drip irrigation system with two emitters per plant, with a flow rate of 4 L h-1. The experimental design used was the...

Nitrate and potassium movement in a sandy loam soil cultivated with fertigated grapevine (Vitis vinifera /L.) in the Brazilian semiarid Rev. Bras. Frutic.
Silva,Alexsandro Oliveira da; Bassoi,Luis Henrique; Silva,Davi José.
Abstract Fertigation can increase the efficiency of fertilizer application and facilitate the nutritional management of a crop. Thus, nitrate and potassium movements in a sandy loam soil were evaluated as function of fertilizer doses during three growing seasons of the grapevine cv. Syrah grafted on Paulsen 1103 rootstock (June to October 2013, February to June 2014, and August to November 2014) in Petrolina, state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Five doses of N (0, 15, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) and five doses of K2O (0, 15, 30, 60 and 120 kg ha-1) were combined in a fractional 52 factorial design, totaling 13 combinations, in a randomized blocks experiment with four replications. The concentrations of nitrate and potassium in the soil solution were determined....

Nutrient and inorganic solute (Na+ and Cl-) content in green onion plants under hydroponic cultivation using brackish water Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Souza,Carlos Donato da Silva; Silva,Geronimo Ferreira da; Menezes,Sirleide Maria de; Morais,José Edson Florentino de; Santos Júnior,José Amilton; Silva,Alexsandro Oliveira da.
ABSTRACT Cultivation using brackish waters can result in nutritional and metabolic imbalances in several plant species, consequently reducing the production of dry matter (DM) and accumulation of toxic ions (Na+ and/or Cl-) in plants. We evaluated the DM production, and nutrient and inorganic solute (Na+ and Cl-) content in green onion plants (cv. Todo Ano Evergreen - Nebuka) under different levels of nutrient solution salinity in combination with circulation frequencies of this solution. Two experiments were conducted in a hydroponic system, using a completely randomized design, in a 6 × 2 factorial scheme, with five replicates: six levels of nutrient solution salinity (1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, 7.5, and 9.0 dS m-1) and two solution circulation frequencies...

Organic and Nitrogen Fertilization of Soil under ‘Syrah’ Grapevine: Effects on Soil Chemical Properties and Nitrate Concentration Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Silva,Davi José; Bassoi,Luís Henrique; Rocha,Marlon Gomes da; Silva,Alexsandro Oliveira da; Deon,Magnus Dall’Igna.
ABSTRACT Viticulture is an activity of great social and economic importance in the lower-middle region of the São Francisco River valley in northeastern Brazil. In this region, the fertility of soils under vineyards is generally poor. To assess the effects of organic and nitrogen fertilization on chemical properties and nitrate concentrations in an Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo (Typic Plinthustalf), a field experiment was carried out in Petrolina, Pernambuco, on Syrah grapevines. Treatments consisted of two rates of organic fertilizer (0 and 30 m3 ha-1) and five N rates (0, 10, 20, 40, and 80 kg ha-1), in a randomized block design arranged in split plots, with five replications. The organic fertilizer levels represented the main plots and the N levels, the...

Production of watercress with brackish water and different circulation times for the nutrient solution Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Souza,Camila Alves de; Silva,Alexsandro Oliveira da; Santos,Jenyffer da Silva Gomes; Lacerda,Claudivan Feitosa de; Silva,Gerônimo Ferreira da.
ABSTRACT In view of the limitations on good quality water, the use of low-quality water in agriculture is seen as a suitable alternative. The aim of this study was to evaluate, in a protected environment, the production of broadleaf watercress in an NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) hydroponic system as a function of the use of brackish water and different circulation times for the nutrient solution. The experiment was carried out in the experimental area of UFC, in Fortaleza, Ceará, from December 2018 to March 2019 (two crop cycles). The treatments were distributed in a randomised block design in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, five levels of water salinity (0.6, 1.6, 2.6, 3.6 and 4.6 dS m-1) and two circulation times for the nutrient solution (10 and 15 min),...
